Your Health Check compared public resolvers from your location. Use the fastest one. Setting it on the router covers every device at home; setting it on a device only covers that device.

Addresses

• Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 · encrypted: one.one.one.one
• Google: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 · encrypted: dns.google
• Quad9 (blocks known malware): 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112 · encrypted: dns.quad9.net
• AdGuard (blocks ads): 94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15 · encrypted: dns.adguard-dns.com

Where to set it

• Android 9+: Settings → Network & internet → Private DNS → enter the encrypted hostname.
• iPhone / iPad: Settings → Wi-Fi → (i) next to your network → Configure DNS → Manual.
• Windows 11: Settings → Network & internet → your connection → DNS server assignment → Edit → Manual, and set DNS over HTTPS to On.
• macOS: System Settings → Network → your connection → Details → DNS.
• Router: look for DNS under WAN or Internet settings.
