NetPulse apps

One tap to protect a phone.

You don't need an app: NetPulse DNS works with the settings every phone already has. The apps make setup one tap and, on Android, add a few things settings can't do.

Android

Android 10 or newer.

  • Set up from your profile's setup page with one tap, no hostname to type.
  • See what was blocked recently and ask for a site to be allowed.
  • Pause website filtering for 10 minutes when something breaks.
  • Block chosen apps on this phone, e.g. a game during homework.
  • Works before our DNS-over-TLS servers reach your region.

Good to know

  • It uses Android's VPN slot to see DNS lookups only. Your other traffic doesn't go through it or through us.
  • It can't run alongside another VPN app.
  • Blocking an app stops its lookups. An app that brings its own DNS can still get through.
  • Turn on Always-on VPN in Settings so it can't simply be switched off.

iPhone & iPad

iOS 16 or newer.

  • Set up from your profile's setup page with one tap, no profile to download.
  • Shows whether protection is on, and how to finish the last step in Settings.
  • Opens your dashboard for lists, schedules and SafeSearch.

Good to know

  • iOS sends lookups straight to NetPulse; the app doesn't sit in between. So it can't list blocks or block single apps.
  • To pause, choose Automatic under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → DNS.

Privacy

Lookups go to your NetPulse profile over encrypted DNS, exactly as without the app. We keep daily counts per profile and device, never the names you look up or your IP address. The Android app's list of recent blocks stays on the phone.
